Enhanced policing and special service come at a cost. The overall cost of the program is set under a master contract with Mandell Winlow Security Foundation. It is not possible for each household to contract directly with the Constable for this service. The master contract covers the entire area served by the program. That cost is then shared by participating “member” households (residences only) who decide to participate and contribute a pro rata share of the program cost. The price to each household is lower the more households sign up, since there are more homes to share the cost. Importantly, “participating” households – i.e., those neighbors who commit to paying for the service – receive additional direct benefits that non-participating households do not. Winlow Place, Mandell Place, and Cherryhurst Neighborhoods

The cost of the program to each member household is dependent on the number of households participating. Participation rates in various neighborhoods throughout the city show that costs will be approximately $1 per day. All homeowners and renters who reside in the area being served are eligible to participate in the Constable Program. Please contact info@mwpatrol.org if you have questions concerning eligibility or neighborhood boundaries.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  Therefore your contribution (payment/cost) is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Upon payment, a letter will be provided to “members” for tax purposes.

It bears repeating that if more residents participate the cost to all residents is reduced, so please tell your neighbors about the need and the benefits to increase membership and defray costs.
