What: Intruders Posing as Tree Trimmers

Where: Royden Oaks

Harris County Constable Department Precinct #1 Deputies responded to a suspicious event which took place in the 2300 block of Maconda Lane in the Royden Oaks subdivision at approximately  5:00 PM October 9, 2018.  The complainant answered the door to a male knocking on his door and stating he needed to access the home owner’s back yard in order to conduct some tree trimming to his neighbor’s tree.  The complainant allowed the male to enter the back yard speaking with this male for a few minutes. While the complainant was speaking with the first suspect his wife encountered a second Hispanic male inside her house. This subject is believed to have made entry into the residence via an unlocked side door of the garage which then led into the interior of the home (this was the door the complainant used to gain access to his back gate to allow the first subject to enter the back yard). This male told her that the complainant had asked him to come get her to talk to them outside and she told him to get out of her house.  This male complied with her request and all parties then met in the back yard. The first male continued to speak with the complainant concerning tree trimming and then both male subjects left the area in a brown or tan colored car.  Complainant  and his wife were unable to give any further description of the vehicle and they did not obtain a license plate number of the vehicle.  The first male is described as a Hispanic male with bad teeth and possibly stocky build.  The second male was described as a slender Hispanic male.  Both males were described as wearing greenish-yellow safety vests and hard hats, but the complainant and his wife were both unable to give further descriptions on the two males. The home owner did not have video of the event and notified dispatch approximately 30 minutes after the event occurred.

Be safe,Constable Alan Rosen
